AUA EXTENSION PROGRAM

The AUA Extension offers preparatory, professional development, adult training and lifelong learning opportunities to meet the needs of the general public and private and public sector organizations. It operates with offices and classes in Yerevan, Gyumri, Dilijan, Yeghegnadzor, Vanadzor and Artsakh (NKR).

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CENTERS

Center for Research in Applied Linguistics (CRAL)
Conducts and disseminates research on effective language teaching methods in Armenia and the region. Offers Experimental English Classes (EEC) for children ages 6-16 years and for pre-school children ages 3-5 years (Sprout).

Legal Resource Center (LRC)
Addresses the needs of a developing legal environment, emphasizing outreach, access to up-to-date information, community service, and economic development as the cornerstones of its scholarly research mission.

Engineering Research Center (ERC)
Conducts research in a broad set of topics in applied sciences and engineering. Recent topics have included alternative energy, industrial systems, cyber security, biomedical devices and computer-aided design and manufacturing.

Center for Responsible Mining (CRM)
Through research, training, and advocacy, promotes the creation and adoption of global best practices in socially, environmentally, and economically responsible mining in Armenia and the region.

Digital Library (DigiLib)
Develops a platform for the collection, digitization, preservation, and presentation to worldwide audiences of the enormous cultural wealth contained in the rich holdings of the Armenian national repositories around the world.

Financial-aid scholarship
Provides partial or full tuition waiver to economically disadvantaged local students, who are in good academic standing. Allows the recruitment of an economically diverse student body.

Scholarship for Diaspora Students
Provides partial or full support to Armenian students from abroad to attend degree programs at AUA.

Scholarship for International Students
Provides partial support to international students to attend degree programs at AUA, enhancing diversity of student body.

Scholarship for Study-Abroad Students
Provides partial support to university students from abroad to attend AUA for study abroad or summer courses.

Merit Scholarship
Provides partial or full tuition waiver to academically meritorious students selected on competitive basis.

NAMED PROFESSORSHIP ENDOWMENT

The annual payout from the endowment pays for a portion of the salary and a research stipend of a distinguished professor or associate professor.

NAMED VISITING PROFESSORSHIP ENDOWMENT

The annual payout from the endowment pays for the salary and travel expenses of a visiting professor for teaching one or more courses in a selected program.

NAMED DISTINGUISHED LECTURER ENDOWMENT

The annual payout from the endowment pays for the travel expenses and honorarium of a distinguished lecturer each year.

NAMED FACULTY RESEARCH AWARD ENDOWMENT

The annual payout from the endowment pays for a Faculty Research Award on competitive basis.

NAMED FACULTY TEACHING EXCELLENCE PRIZE ENDOWMENT

The annual payout from the endowment pays for a Faculty Teaching Excellence Prize on competitive basis.

NAMED FACULTY DEVELOPMENT GRANT ENDOWMENT

The annual payout from the endowment pays for faculty professional development, such as attending conferences or training courses.

NAMED STAFF DEVELOPMENT GRANT ENDOWMENT

The annual payout from the endowment pays for staff professional development, such as training courses.

ENDOWMENT FOR LIBRARY COLLECTION

The payout from the endowment is used to acquire new books, journals and subscriptions for electronic publications.

ENDOWMENT FOR STUDENT CAREER CENTER

The payout from the endowment is used to provide career development services to students and alumni, assisting them to find jobs in Armenia.

ENDOWMENT FOR CONTINUED GREENING OF THE CAMPUS

The payout from the endowment is used to enhance energy efficiency, use of alternative energies, proper waste management and other environmentally safe practices.
