A Message from the Vice President of Development
Since the onset of the American University of Armenia in 1991, the University has been supported and held up by pillars of benefactors. When our generous donors partner with AUA, they partner with education, they partner with ensuring the progress of our youth, and they partner with sustaining the future of our nation.
The U.S. Office of Development, also known as the American University of Armenia Corporation (AUAC) is a California Public Benefit Corporation organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes under the Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). Its purpose is to own and jointly operate AUA in Armenia. With its principal office in Oakland, California, AUAC works in affiliation with the Regents of the University of California (UC). Under the affiliation agreement, UC provides academic and administrative guidance, and this agreement allows AUAC to consult appropriate members of the staff and faculty of UC in the planning of curriculum, the selection of faculty, the structuring of University administration, and in developing programs across various disciplines.
Through the years, AUA has maintained its role as trailblazer within Higher Education in Armenia and we pride ourselves on being able to provide our students with academic quench for knowledge, innovative outlets for creativity, and the support necessary to raise them to succeed in a multitude of ways beyond the walls of campus.
