Every gift, no matter how small, makes a difference. In fact, many global publications use alumni giving percentages to determine rankings for colleges and universities. Therefore, the more support AUA receives, the higher its ranking becomes. In turn, with each alumni gift, a degree from AUA becomes more prestigious within the global community.
It costs AUA around $10,000 to educate each student. And yet, AUA only charges around $2,900-$4,300, depending on the degree program, to each student who is an Armenian citizen or long-term special residency status holder. The $2,900-$4,300 tuition is further offset by financial aid and scholarships. AUA absorbs $5,700-$7,100 gap in tuition for each Armenian student, which makes us critically dependent on the generosity of our donors.
AUA is proud to have both a full-need financial aid policy and a need-blind admissions process. This means that no qualified student is turned away for his or her inability to pay tuition, based on demonstrated financial need as accessed by the Financial Aid Committee.
Admissions decisions are based on merit, not financial ability to pay tuition. It also means that all enrolled students who qualify for financial assistance, will receive it under AUA’s full-need policy.
AUA is recognized as a 501(c)(3) corporation in the State of California. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by the Internal Revenue Service of the United States.
The AUA Legacy Society is a unique opportunity for donors to provide planned gifts to the University through a will or living trust, by naming AUA as a beneficiary or owner of a life insurance policy, savings, brokerage, or retirement account, or by establishing a life income gift, such as a charitable remainder trust or charitable gift annuity.
