Our History

  • Established in 1991 on the day Armenia
    declared independence from the Soviet Union, The American University of Armenia (AUA) was founded by a group of world-reknowned educators and community leaders.

  • AUA’s  AGBU Papazian Library is a state-of-the-art space that will accommodate the growing student body.

AUA Extension

  • Extension offers courses addressing the needs of the important prospective student population – from developing programs in the rural populations outside of Yerevan to developing coursework addressing the needs of the Syrian-Armenian student population.
