Main Building Facilities

Large Auditorium in Main Building

With a capacity of 1,300 seats and equipped with tri-lingual simultaneous translation capabilities, this auditorium is used for important events, such as annual commencement  ceremonies, student orientations, student-staged plays and musical events, alumni reunions, plenary sessions of large conferences, and other major public events.

Small Auditorium in Main Building 

With a capacity of 90 seats, including accommodations for disabled persons, this newly renovated tiered auditorium is used for classes, seminars, presentations, film screenings and other events. The Auditorium is equipped with a podium, laptop computer, LCD projector, roll-up screen, and a PA system.

University Cafeteria 

Serving hundreds of students, faculty, staff and guests on daily basis, the newly renovated cafeteria is an extremely popular space in the University. With an open kitchen and serving counter, the cafeteria serves breakfast, lunch and dinner six days a week.

Collaborative Study Space 

Situated in the Mihran and Elizabeth Agbabian Hall near the entrance of the Main Building, the glass-enclosed space serves as an extension of the library. It is equipped with workstations allowing teams of students to work on joint projects in a collaborative learning environment.

Collaborative Study Cubicles  2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 in AGBU-Papazian Library 

Each sound-proof cubicle has a monitor that can be connected to a laptop computer, allowing students to work on group projects and facilitating collaborative learning. Each cubicle is 11 square meters with the capacity of 5 persons.

Computer Laboratories 001, 002, 003, 004 and 005 

Separated by foldable glass walls, these are the main computer labs open to students. They are also used as classrooms for coding courses as well as the authorized center by the University Extension for administering standardized tests, such as TOEFL, SAT and ACT. The space is always full of students and is open late.

Each classroom is equipped with integrated technology, including a podium with internet access and audio-visual facilities. The size is 45 square meters with a capacity of 28 persons.

With a full view of Baghramyan Avenue, the classroom is equipped with integrated technology, including a podium with internet access and audio-visual facilities. The size is 36 square meters with a capacity of 18 persons.

Paramaz Avedisian Building (PAB) Facilities

Bridge between Main Building and Paramaz Avedisian Building 

As the link between the old and new buildings, the bridge symbolizes the connection between the old and new worlds that the University represents. As such, it has inspired the naming of the student paper, The Bridge. It is widely used as a passage way, but also as a space for exhibiting posters, student campaign literature and artwork.

Classrooms 113W, 213W and 214W in West Wing of Paramaz Avedisian Building

Modern classrooms fully equipped with podium, computer with Internet access, LCD projector, Smart Board, roll-up screen, audio system, CD/DVD player and Flipchart stand and furnished with wooden desks and individual chairs. The size is 89 square meters with a seating capacity of 40.

Classrooms 406E and 407E in East Wing of Paramaz Avedisian Building 

Modern classrooms fully equipped with podium, computer with Internet access, LCD projector, Smart Board, roll-up screen, audio system, CD/DVD player and flipchart stand and furnished with individual right- and left-handed desk-chairs. The size is 76 square meters with a seating capacity of 60.

Conference Rooms 133W and 233W in West Wing of Paramaz Avedisian Building 

With full views of Mount Ararat, these elegant conference rooms are furnished with an oval-shaped conference table with a capacity of 20 persons with additional space in the room for another 20 persons. The room is equipped with audio-visual and teleconferencing facilities. The size is 60 square meters with a total capacity of 40.

 

Classroom 408E in East Wing of Paramaz Avedisian Building 

Modern classrooms fully equipped with podium, computer with Internet access, LCD projector, Smart Board, roll-up screen, audio system, CD/DVD player and flipchart stand and furnished with individual right- and left-handed desk-chairs. The size is 162 square meters with a seating capacity of 80.

Student Union 

Students’ most favorite space on campus, the newly opened Student Union houses a large room with a kitchenette for socializing and student collaborations, a quiet room for studying, an office for meetings of the Student Council and the Editorial Board of The Bridge, and the Writing & Math Center. Covers 300 square meters with the capacity of 150 persons.

Faculty Center 

An elegant space for the faculty and their guests to gather, interact, collaborate, reflect and discuss teaching, research and scholarly interests. Brown-bag lunches, faculty meetings and formal and informal presentations are held here. The space is equipped with a kitchenette and audio-visual facilities. The size is 140 square meters with a capacity of 60 persons.

Amphitheater 

Situated on the North side of the Paramaz Avedisian Building and visible from the glass atrium of the building, this open-air, tiered amphitheater is used for musical events, theatrical performances, student debates and lectures. It is adjacent to the public path going through the campus, thus allowing public participation in the events and demonstrating University’s commitment to transparency, openness and academic freedom. The size is 120 square meters with a capacity of 140 persons.

Other Facilities

Student Residence Facility

Situated at the edge of the Hrazdan gorge in the Ethnographic District next to the Parajanov Museum, and with a clear view of Mount Ararat, this four-story building, currently under construction, will be the main student residence facility of the University. It will have 60+ beds, including rooms with all modern amenities, rooms specially designed for disabled students, a computer lab, study room, library, laundry facilities, and a communal kitchen. Total floor area is 1010 square meters.
